Head of Operations & Finance | Private Markets | London
A highly ambitious and disruptive private investment firm is seeking an exceptional Director of Operations & Finance to lead and evolve its operational infrastructure as it scales rapidly across Europe.
This is a rare opportunity to play a foundational role at a modern investment platform backed by some of the most influential names in technology, private equity, and family capital. The team combines world-class experience from top-tier firms (e.g. Sequoia, Goldman Sachs, TowerBrook) with entrepreneurial success stories at the billion-dollar scale.
The Role
You will set the strategic vision for operations and finance, overseeing the full lifecycle of investor and investment processes — from fund structuring and capital operations to portfolio oversight and regulatory compliance.
This is a high-trust, high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-moving, high-performance environment and wants to build something truly different in private markets.
Key Areas of Focus
* Leading fund operations, finance, and compliance across hybrid and bespoke investment structures (funds, SPVs, co-investments, SMAs)
* Designing and automating workflows across investor onboarding, capital calls, distributions, reporting and monitoring
* Managing external providers (administrators, AIFMs, custodians, advisors)
* Overseeing the launch of new fund products and working closely with investment and product teams
* Driving regulatory compliance, including AIFMD marketing and KYC/AML
* Championing data integrity and leveraging technology to increase scale, speed and transparency
About You
You likely have experience in an operations or finance leadership role at a fund manager (private equity, venture capital, family office, or FoF), fund administrator, or AIFM. You’ll be equally comfortable with the detail and the strategic big picture.
* Deep understanding of closed-ended fund structures and operational processes
* Entrepreneurial, systems-minded and relentless about improving inefficiencies
* Adept at building relationships across stakeholders – legal, investment, product, tech
* Highly organised, with rigorous attention to detail and process ownership
* Driven by high standards, precision, and discretion
The Offer
* Salary up to £125k plus performance-related bonus and exceptional benefits
* Pension, private healthcare, life cover, income protection and wellness support
* Hybrid working (London-based HQ)
* Flat structure and close collaboration with the firm’s founders
* A pivotal role in one of Europe’s most exciting private capital platforms
