Responsible to: Nursery Manager

Post Grade: Grade 6 (Starting Salary £24,374)

Hours: 35 hours per week - 39 weeks (Includes INSET)

Closing date - Thursday 20th November 2025

Interview date - 27th November 2025

Springbank Primary Academy is EPIC! We are a two-form entry primary school with nursery attached. We value respect, resilience, kindness and creativity from all of our children and staff.

This is a unique opportunity for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join us in the running of a nursery and pre-school facility for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This is a chance to join a highly experienced and professional team with the aim of providing an excellent early years setting for local children. The successful candidates will be passionate about working in childcare, supporting the Nursery Manager and rest of the team and someone who relishes the challenge of keeping practice current and relevant.

The desired candidates must be passionate about children’s learning and development, have excellent communication skills, enjoy getting messy and embrace all aspects of learning indoors and outdoors, whatever the weather. A successful applicant must have a keen belief in a child centered approach and learning through play. They will share our passion for providing a creative curriculum and will share our love of open-ended investigation and exploration. Level 3 early years qualification (NNEB, NVQ3, BTEC or equivalent) is an essential requirement.

Some Key responsibilities include

•Drive and deliver the highest standards of care throughout the Nursery as detailed in relevant Ofsted expectation documents and models of exemplary practice case studies, ensuring that the throughout the provision there is a commitment to the ethos and expectation of Great Oldbury Primary Academy.

•Support the Nursery Manger with monitoring the development plan, ensuring that following any OFSTED visits or after internal monitoring, any recommendations are actioned.

•Provide support and CPD to the team in the planning and development of an inspiring and creative environment which works in harmony with and supports the curriculum expectation of the school, ensuring the requirements of the EYFS framework is met.

•Develop positive relationships with parents and carers and role model to all staff effective conduct, speech and written communication.

•Support individual pupils with emotional and behavioural problems and/or complex medical needs as identified in their Intimate Care Plan or Individual Health Care Plan and ensure there is appropriate and early intervention for those with special educational needs.
