Finance business partner (12 month contract)

This role is responsible for the provision of high quality support, information, and analysis on all aspects of finance to the Group Marketing & Innovation function.

Responsibilities

1. Liaising with various LT teams across the Group to ensure that costs are being captured correctly and in accordance with relevant accounting standards/SOX controls.
2. Lead finance/budget reviews with the department Leadership Team
3. Lead the monthly forecasting process, including identifying risks and opportunities, and variance analysis/commentary.
4. Manage the month-end process, including monthly accruals/prepayments and journals in line with the relevant accounting policies and procedures.
5. Line management of an Assistant Management Accountant
6. Ensure compliance with necessary accounting standards and SOX controls
7. Assist in the annual budget preparation process
8. Provide relevant, meaningful, and insightful financial information/analysis to assist departmental managers in their decision-making process.
9. Ensure integrity of financial reporting

Main tasks

10. Ensuring SOX processes are followed and documented
11. Hold regular budget reviews with the M&I LT to manage the forecast, risks & opportunities
12. Complete month end processes by the relevant deadlines including general journals, recurring journals, recharges, and monthly forecast by COB WD5
13. Line Management and development of Assistant Management Accountant
14. Produce monthly reporting packs for M&I cost centre managers and CCO
15. Produce quarterly slide deck and associated summaries for the M&I quarterly business review
16. Work closely with PMO, the capex accountant and the wider finance team to ensure recharges and capitalisation of costs are completed accurately and correctly

Requirements:

17. ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified Accountant.
18. Business Partner experience within a commercial organisation
19. Proven experience in management accounting within a large corporation.
20. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
21. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
22. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
23. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
