Walker Cole International is searching for a Director of Scientific Affairs and Portfolio Management to join a leading healthcare organisation based near London, England. This senior leadership position will oversee Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Portfolio Strategy, and Business Development across a broad portfolio of products.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving scientific and commercial excellence — ensuring compliance, enabling innovation, and shaping portfolio growth across the organisation. This position offers significant influence within the UK leadership team and represents a key pillar in the company’s long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership across Regulatory, Medical, and Clinical Affairs, ensuring full compliance with UK and international standards.
* Define and deliver portfolio strategy and business development plans, including new product launches, lifecycle management, and opportunity assessment.
* Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team spanning regulatory, medical, pharmacovigilance, and business development functions, fostering collaboration and high performance.
* Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, licensing partnerships, and category expansion initiatives.
* Partner with senior leadership to achieve strategic and financial objectives while strengthening the organisation’s scientific and commercial capabilities.
Candidate Profile
* 15+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals with a strong background in scientific, regulatory, or medical leadership.
* Proven expertise in portfolio management and business development, including strategic evaluation of new opportunities.
* Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-functional teams within matrix organisations.
* Degree in a life science or pharmacy discipline; advanced qualifications in business, regulatory, or scientific management are advantageous.
