Job Description:
Do you enjoy tax technical research and solving complex technical queries? We are looking for a talented individual at Manager level, from either a corporate or mixed tax background, to be part of our national Central Technical Team. The ideal candidate will have very strong technical skills, drive, and curiosity.
The Central Technical team works with teams across the tax practice to collect, create, curate, and communicate technical insight for the benefit of our teams and clients. This involves original research, analyzing knowledge submissions, producing and maintaining technical resources, assisting with complex queries, producing newsletters, and monitoring technical developments from case law or budget processes, collaborating with the Tax Policy team as needed.
We are expanding the team to increase technical expertise, expand our technical guidance collection, and ensure our reference materials are current and aligned with technological developments, including AI tools.
Team members are based across the UK, supporting hybrid and flexible work arrangements. While not directly client-facing, candidates should understand client issues.
Responsibilities
* Producing technical reference and thought leadership materials.
* Researching and drafting technical materials based on legislation, case law, and guidance, incorporating insights from resources and experts.
* Maintaining and updating materials for legal and practice changes.
* Supporting client service teams with technical queries.
* Engaging with HMRC and HMT on consultations and expertise areas.
* Assisting with technology development, including AI tools.
* Providing technical support for training, including developing or reviewing content.
What we require from you:
* Legal or tax qualification (CTA or equivalent).
* Familiarity with the UK tax system and ability to learn new regimes quickly.
* Ability to interpret legislation and case law, and conduct legal research.
* Knowledge of tax technology tools, including AI, is desirable.
* Experience in delivering practical advice to clients is desirable.
