This role will support the national technical infrastructure on which corporate systems are maintained and accessed, ensuring reliable, secure and effective IT services across the organisation. The role requires awareness of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Conduct Risk strategies, and compliance with Data Protection legislation, including the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
Responsibilities
Technical Support & Operations
* Provide an effective helpdesk and technical support service to the business.
* Maintain effective procedures for the maintenance and usage of systems as defined by the Technical Support Manager.
* Support and maintain the international technical infrastructure, including on‑premise and cloud‑based services.
* Maintain and support audio and video conferencing systems.
* Travel to other UK office locations as required.
* Test and maintain Disaster Recovery capabilities.
* Participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota as required.
* Complete, manage, and report on allocated projects.
* Ensure effective and timely reporting.
Security, Compliance & Risk
* Maintain network and operating system security, incorporating Cyber Security awareness, training, and implementation.
* Support vulnerability management, monitoring, and security tooling where required.
* Demonstrate awareness of TCF, Conduct Risk strategies, and Data Protection legislation (DPA and GDPR).
Systems & Technical Knowledge
* Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra).
* Virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix).
* Office 365 / Microsoft 365 services (Teams and collaboration tools).
* Understanding of LAN, VLAN, WAN, and proximity security systems.
* General understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
Vendor, Service & Business Engagement
* Liaison and management of third‑party service providers and support vendors.
* Support management of services, contracts, and supplier relationships.
* Work closely with the business to ensure critical systems are maintained and supported.
Requirements
Experience
* Experience supporting a corporate IT environment (3‑5 years and 200+ users desirable).
* Management of Microsoft 365, Intune and Azure services.
* Experience with cloud‑based platforms and applications.
* Relevant certifications: AZ900, AZ104, AZ140
Knowledge
* Corporate systems and infrastructure.
* Azure and Active Directory.
* Project and risk management techniques.
* Understanding of insurance, claims, and finance departments.
