School Crossing Patrol Officer - Great Bradfords Infant and Junior schools
Fixed Term, Part Time
£13.00 per hour
Location: Braintree
Support schools ensuring the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and surrounding areas.
We are seeking a punctual, reliable, approachable individual who enjoys engaging with the public.
This role is approximately 3 hours 45 minutes per week, with holiday pay included. You will work during the 39 weeks of the academic year, approximately 45 minutes daily between 14:50 – 15:35, depending on site requirements. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians at the crossing.
* Maintain contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
* Assess risks at the crossing site regularly, report issues to the supervisor.
* Assist in preparing reports on incidents such as accidents and failure to stop.
* Maintain uniform and equipment in good condition, request replacements as needed.
* Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure pedestrians are safe before allowing traffic to proceed.
