Join to apply for the Social Worker role at Southampton City Council.
About The Role
The Specialist Assessment Team (SAT) is a specialist team within Southampton City Council's Safeguarding Service, undertaking complex assessments and interventions with families. Our work also includes the Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC). We are a multi-disciplinary team committed to proactively supporting families to make positive lifestyle changes and stay together safely where possible.
This unique role offers the opportunity to work in one of only 13 specialist FDAC teams nationally, providing complex assessments to support children and families.
About You
We seek a reflective, confident social worker with strong assessment skills, experience in safeguarding, and the ability to work under pressure. You should be adept at producing high-quality, holistic, evidence-based assessments, including court reports, and delivering interventions to mitigate risks and promote change. A qualification as a Social Worker registered with the HCPC is essential, along with post-qualifying experience, particularly with families facing substance misuse, mental health, learning needs, and domestic abuse issues.
We value professionals who believe in strengths-based approaches and can engage complex families effectively.
If you meet these criteria, you may be well-suited for this rewarding role within the SAT.
For more details, please view the job description. The application must include a supporting statement demonstrating how you meet the essential and desirable criteria; a CV alone will not suffice.
