Description
Priory Hospital Nelson House is looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a full time/37.5 Hour role. Located in Gosport, Hampshire, Priory Hospital Nelson House is a rehabilitation service which offers both level 1 and level 2 care, supporting males presenting with mental health conditions and complex needs, who may also have behaviours that challenge and substance misuse issues.
What you\'ll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
* Support occupational therapists in delivering therapy plans and interventions to patients with physical, mental, or developmental challenges.
* Assist in assessing patients’ needs, monitoring progress, and adapting activities to enhance independence and daily living skills.
* Coordinate and supervise junior assistants and support staff, ensuring effective teamwork and quality care.
* Maintain accurate patient records, prepare reports, and communicate with healthcare professionals and families.
* Facilitate therapeutic activities, provide patient education, and promote safety within clinical and community settings.

What you\'ll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working as an Occupational Therapist, with proven expertise in delivering patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings. A relevant professional qualification and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) are essential. Strong communication and leadership skills are required, along with the ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and mentor junior staff effectively.
