Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer - Manchester The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working across a diverse portfolio of high-profile commercial clients.
You'll be working across a wide range of sectors including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education, IT, retail, telecoms, local authorities, and specialist commercial environments , delivering both planned maintenance and reactive service work.
This is a field-based role offering genuine long-term stability, technical variety, and clear opportunities for progression within a supportive engineering business.
What You'll Be Doing Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC and refrigeration systems
Diagnosing faults and delivering effective repair solutions across a range of equipment
Working on systems including VRV/VRF, split systems, close control, cold rooms, chilled water systems, and chillers
Supporting site surveys, producing reports, and assisting with quotations where required
Ensuring all work is completed to high standards of safety, compliance, and workmanship
Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota
Providing excellent customer service and representing the business professionally on site
What We're Looking For NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
F-Gas qualified and compliant with current regulations
Strong technical understanding of refrigeration and electrical principles
Proven experience working on VRV/VRF systems, chillers, cold rooms, and HVAC plant
Confident fault-finding and diagnostic ability across a range of systems
Good understanding of industry standards, legislation, and compliance requirements
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
