Role: Storesperson
Location: Barnsley
Type: Temporary
Pay: £14.42 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm - Job runs to end of October 2025
Responsibilities
* Management of day-to-day inventory and stock control
* Control all stock from goods inwards to despatch
* Maintain and control stock levels
* To source material and tooling for all related technical jobs
* Processing orders and delivery of spare parts, components and lab equipment
* Distribution of parts to technicians
* Minimal counter service response time
* Maximise accuracy of database to reduce stock variance and the number of stock adjustment
* Improved clarity of equipment specification to ensure the right parts are in stock and supplied
* Drive excellent inventory management practices to ensure an optimum stock level value
* To load and unload deliveries
* Source, develop and maintain relationship with suppliers and subcontractors
* Adherence to all processes for laboratory conditions
* Contribution to the smooth running of the laboratories by carrying out a range of non-project procedures
* Excelling in Customer Service
* Maximum stock levels at all times
* Reduced down time due to lack of available stock
Experience & Skills
* Previous stores experience
* Front facing customer service skills
* Good level of education
* Computer literate
