North Shore Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Salaried GP to join our dedicated team, offering a mix of face-to-face clinics, telephone consultations and home visits to cover 8 sessions per week.
Main duties of the job
* Conduct a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations, offering general health advice
* Diagnose symptoms, prescribe medication and refer patients to specialist consultants as needed
* Manage a variety of acute and routine presentations
* Undertake a proportionate share of the practices home visits and administrative duties
* Contribute to clinical governance
* Support practice development and innovation

As part of Blackpool North Primary Care Network (PCN) the practice also boasts further clinical expertise from Physiotherapists, Clinical Pharmacists, General Practitioners, GP Assistants.
The surgery is supported by a large team of administrative personnel.
Job responsibilities
As a General Practitioner (GP) the successful candidate will provides comprehensive, continuous healthcare for individuals and families, acting as the first point of contact for medical issues by diagnosing illnesses, managing chronic conditions, offering preventative care, prescribing medication, arranging specialist referrals, and handling administrative tasks like signing sick notes, all while maintaining accurate patient records and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Assessing patients in-person, via phone, or at home for various acute and chronic health problems, using clinical skills and tests to reach a diagnosis.
* Developing care plans, prescribing medications, performing minor surgeries, and managing long-term conditions.
* Providing preventative care, including routine screenings, and providing health education to promote well-being.
* Referring patients to specialists when needed and coordinating care with other providers.
* Maintaining clear, contemporaneous, and accurate electronic and paper records.
* Issuing prescriptions, fit notes, death certificates, and handling correspondence.
* Working within multidisciplinary teams, potentially training medical students or junior doctors, and liaising with other healthcare professionals.
* Staying updated on medical advancements, new treatments, and participating in continuous professional development.
