Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Assistants in Active Matter and Theoretical Biophysics. The posts are associated with the ERC Advanced Grant ActBio. The postdoctoral researchers will extend and apply the ideas of active matter physics in biological contexts, developing theories and cell-scale and continuum computational models. The work will focus on identifying physical principles that govern the motility, self-organisation and development of living systems. The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach. Applicants should hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in theoretical physics or a related field. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a capacity for independent research work and an ability to collaborate across disciplines. Please direct enquiries about the role to Professor Julia Yeomans: julia.yeomans@physics.ox.ac.uk The post is full time and fixed term for 2 years with a possible extension subject to funding. The closing date for applications is noon UK time on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.
