Overview
WSP Land is the world’s largest land consultancy, supporting infrastructure development across the UK and Ireland. With over 300 specialists—including land consultants, property specialists, project managers and surveyors—our team delivers land referencing, acquisition, access, formal consents and statutory orders for the breadth of infrastructure sectors such as Energy, Highways, Water, Rail, Local Government and Aviation.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction on WSP Land projects.
* Lead stakeholder engagement to secure land rights and acquisition agreements.
* Champion a collaborative, high‑performance team culture and drive alignment with project and organisational goals.
* Serve as a strategic advisor to clients and business development teams, enhancing relationships and securing opportunities.
* Oversee successful delivery of major projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, high‑quality outcomes.
* Lead initiatives in the Energy, Water and Rail sectors, including bid preparation and tender management.
* Partner with other WSP disciplines to identify multidisciplinary opportunities and support business growth.
* Represent WSP Land in public forums, enhancing visibility and thought leadership.
* Implement resource plans—talent retention, succession, recruitment—to meet project needs.
* Conduct regular risk reviews to maintain robust governance and proactive issue resolution.
* Drive continuous improvement of client delivery through feedback loops.
* Promote WSP culture of health, safety & wellbeing, Quality Assurance, Data Protection and digital innovation.
* Travel within Ireland and the UK as required.
Qualifications
* Proven leadership in managing Land services, including identification, access and acquisition.
* Expertise in land consents, consultation processes and landowner engagement for major infrastructure projects.
* Experience collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams across sectors and locations.
* Strong capability in mitigating land risk and providing strategic advice across the project lifecycle.
* Experience representing clients at Public Inquiries and Oral Hearings.
* Track record of securing and expanding business opportunities.
* Leading bid management and high‑quality submission skills.
* Experience in talent strategy: retention, succession and recruitment.
* Excellent stakeholder communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
* Adaptable under pressure, delivering quality outputs in demanding environments.
* Commercial acumen and proficiency with relevant IT systems.
* Commitment to quality assurance, data protection and Health & Safety standards.
* Degree in Geography, Agriculture, Land and Estate Management or related discipline.
* Chartered status or membership of a recognised professional body is highly desirable.
