Job Description
Contribute as part of a team to provide a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-8 years and their families, working in accordance with the principles of the national care standards for early education and childcare, and abide by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.
Requirements
The duties involve regulated work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will need to become a PVG Scheme member for Regulated Work with these groups, or if already a member, undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update, before a formal offer of employment is made by East Ayrshire Council.
Note: PVG records are continually updated. Any relevant disclosures will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

The Individual
This is a temporary, full-time, term-time position based at Cairns Early Childhood Centre, Kilmarnock, until 31 October 2025.
The hours are 17.5 per week, scheduled at the line manager's discretion.
The full-time annual salary ranges from £31,377 to £33,579, with part-time, term-time salary between £13,455 and £14,400.
