The British Schools Museum is seeking a motivated and versatile Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a varied role at the heart of a unique historic site, working closely with staff and volunteers to deliver an excellent visitor experience and support the museum's growth.
You will contribute across all areas of the museum's work, including:
* Day-to-day operations, acting as Duty Manager and ensuring the site runs smoothly.
* Supporting collections management, documentation, and interpretation.
* Assisting with learning programmes for schools, families, and adults.
* Helping to plan and deliver public events.
* Recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers.
* Promoting the museum through social media and the website.
We are looking for someone with:
* A museum qualification or relevant experience in a museum setting.
* Knowledge or experience of collections management.
* Excellent organisational and customer service skills.
* Experience of working with and supporting volunteers.
* Enthusiasm, flexibility, and the ability to work with a wide range of people.
Some evening and weekend work will be required.
