Job Title: Behaviour Mentor

Location: Chesterfield

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £21,462 - £23,628

We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour in a school setting in Chesterfield. This role is permanent and full-time, with an immediate start.


Responsibilities

* Providing 1-2-1 support to students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage participation in learning activities.
* Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to develop tailored learning plans for students, monitoring progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns.
* Supporting the social and emotional development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
* Encouraging and motivating students to engage in learning, providing additional support where necessary.
* Participating in training and development opportunities to further enhance your knowledge and skills.


Requirements

* Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
* Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
* A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field is desirable.
