The Role
We are looking for a Lead Clinician to manage our in‑house Clinical Team at The Shires - Oakham School. The postholder will work collaboratively with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role involves clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload. Responsibilities include delivering bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils with complex neurodivergent and developmental needs, meeting EHCP plan requirements, coordinating line management of the onsite clinical team, developing the clinical school‑based service, and ensuring a safeguarding culture. You will provide supervision to the therapy team and represent the school in clinical governance matters.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree qualification in Psychotherapy (minimum level 7) or Speech and Language Therapy
* Experience in Clinical Leadership and Management
* A registered practitioner with the HCPC or another approved governing body, valid and up to date professional registration and membership of a professional body (e.g., BPS)
* Experience within the specialist client group; working with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs
* Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team
* Ability to work independently and dynamically within a growing clinical service
* Experience of multi‑professional work with services within the designated specialty (preferred)
* Full UK valid driving licence and access to own vehicle
