About the Role We are seeking an experienced Building Safety Manager to join a South East local authority on an interim basis. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing building safety compliance and management across the authority's housing and public buildings portfolio, with a focus on the 'Big 6' safety risks: fire safety, gas safety, electrical safety, water hygiene, asbestos management, and lifts. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of building safety and compliance relating to the Big 6 disciplines across the local authority's residential and public properties. Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order, and all relevant health and safety legislation. Coordinate and oversee safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and remedial works. Work closely with contractors, engineers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of safety works and maintenance. Manage and update building safety records, safety cases, and documentation to meet regulatory requirements. Act as the key liaison point with regulatory bodies, residents, and stakeholders on building safety matters.
