Festival and Events Support Officer


Location & Contract

Permanent. Locations: Penrith, Kendal or Barrow-in-Furness Office. Contract Type: Permanent. Full-time. 37 hours per week.


About this opportunity

We are looking to appoint a Festival and Events Support Officer to work within the existing team to support and promote the successful delivery of events on Council‑owned event spaces and across the Westmorland and Furness area.


Who we are looking for…

The successful candidate will work alongside the Festival and Events Lead Officer to support festivals and events in Westmorland and Furness, including on council‑owned land. The role involves providing information, advice and guidance to event organisers and stakeholders to support safe and successful events. It also includes undertaking administrative duties such as processing applications for the use of council‑owned land for events, updating and maintaining computerised records of events, providing meeting support such as minute‑taking and processing payments and invoices.

We are looking for an experienced administrator with excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills as well as high‑level organisational and communication skills.
