Directorate: Housing Regeneration and Operations Section: Transport Policy and Planning Location: Civic Centre Grade: Level 5 Salary: £26,403 - £28,598 Hours: 37 – Full Time This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants. This is a fixed term post for 18 months. We are looking for a practical person with a can do attitude, who is physically fit to aid us to collect traffic data. This involves working outdoors 70% of the time installing and maintaining equipment, this can involve working at height using ladders, working in the Highway and driving a council vehicle (small van) to transport equipment to site locations. Plus 30% indoor work, inputting and analysing data and managing records, databases and administration tasks. A keen eye for detail is important and an interest in technology and how things work is advantageous. If you have an interest in how our roads, cycle tracks and footpaths are performing and want to help improve how people get around the local area then this may be the job for you. You need to have knowledge or experience in data collection, database management data analysis and interpretation? You will be working in a small team undertaking traffic data collection for all transport modes such as walking, cycling, scooting and public transport, as well as surveys and transport studies. You will be required to collect data, analyse, monitor and report on trends and other Local Transport Plan /Stoke on Trent City Council targets as required. You will maintain and administer a transport database and undertake research, create supporting documentation, and assist with the production of reports to senior officers, Council Members, and external organisations.
