Connections Engineer - Major Connections

To continue our commitment to delivering high quality customer services for our connections customers to connect large factories and power stations to our extra high voltage networks, Northern Powergrid is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our dynamic Major Connections business. You will act as the point of contact across customers, design and major projects, playing a critical part in the UK's decarbonisation and Clean Power 2030 initiative.

As a Connections Business Development Engineer, you will enable customers to transition to a low carbon economy through deployment of flexible connection solutions that use new and emerging technologies and commercial arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver quotation services to customers for EHV connections on time and within licence requirements
* Manage the EHV customer experience and relationship from first contact to final connection
* Engage with customers seeking to connect to the Extra High Voltage network, developing innovative and flexible connection solutions to support the transition to a low carbon economy
* Ensure regulatory and charging policies are adhered to in respect to quotations
* Prepare quotation approval documentation to executive level standard
* Interpret technical appraisal documentation and create effective contracts for delivery of the physical work
* Test technical and commercial outputs against customer needs
* Manage commercial and legal documentation related to connections contracts
* Oversee project financial governance and project closure routines
* Provide first class written and spoken communication skills
* Deliver high quality documentation in a commercial environment
* Establish, build and maintain exceptional customer relationships
* Provide oversight and ensure timely resolution of issues and escalated complaints
* Effective teamwork
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Project Management Qualifications
* Experience of the Electricity Industry (connections) regulated environment
* Legal and contract law experience
