Overview
Two part-time Senior Clinical Psychologist roles within the Attach Service in West Sussex County Council. 1 x 22.2 hours per week and 1 x 29.6 hours per week. Contract: Permanent. Location: Glebelands, Shoreham-by-Sea, with countywide coverage. Working Pattern: Part-time, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working considered. Days are flexible apart from team meetings on Tuesdays. Interviews are scheduled for 06 and 08 October 2025.
Salary and Tenure
Salary: Pro-rata for 22.2 hours £35,994 to £38,046 per annum; Pro-rata for 29.6 hours £47,992 to £50,728 per annum. FTE Equivalent Salary: £59,991 to £63,411 per annum. Pay scheme: Other.
Purpose
Specialist Senior Clinical Psychologists to deliver evidence-informed, integrative, and systemic interventions within a multi-disciplinary/multiagency environment, champion a trauma-aware, relational approach, and contribute to the growth and impact of the Psychological Services Hub.

About The Service
The Attach Service provides psychological support to Children We Care For, Care Leavers, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Young People, and Special Guardianship teams, with support to Residential and Fostering services and two specialist projects. The Attach Team delivers evidence-informed support to carers and professionals around developmental trauma, attachment, and emotional needs, with a focus on therapeutic parenting within foster care and kinship underpinned by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) principles and PACE culture.
The Attach Projects Team is linked to the newly created Projects team within Attach. An experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist provides clinical oversight, with clinical supervision for the two Senior Clinical Psychologist roles (1 x 29.6 hours and 1 x 22.2 hours).
Person Specification
Experience (Essential):
* Qualified clinical psychologist with post-qualification experience in working with children and families with complex needs, including psychological assessment, formulation, and therapy with children and young people.
* Evidence of continuing professional development; ability to identify and address barriers to inclusion and challenge oppressive or disrespectful practices.
Qualifications (Essential):
* Professional Doctorate level training in Clinical Psychology; knowledge of lifespan development, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
Experience (Further Details) (Essential):
* Post-qualification experience in assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and families; understanding of developmental trauma in care-experienced children and the needs of carers in foster, special guardianship, and residential settings.
* Expertise in Dyadic Developmental Informed Psychotherapy (DDP-informed) and PACE-based interventions; training in these areas is advantageous.
* Understanding of developmental trauma, neurodiversity, and related needs; commitment to improving care for looked-after children.
* Experience in multi-agency consultations and working with professionals; ability to present data accessibly; knowledge of related legislation; and strong time management and self-management skills.
