Role Details Role: Technical Manager Salary: between £38,000 - £48,000 (dependent on experience) Hours: 40 hours per week Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, typically 8:00AM/9:00AM – 16:00/17:00PM Contract: Permanent Job Description The Technical Manager’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: The management of Cucina’s Technical activities, to ensure company and customer compliance in relation to Food Safety, Legality, Authenticity, Integrity and Quality. Acting as the on-site expert on product processes and quality, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, within Cucina and Individual Restaurant Group. Be the site lead in the development and implementation of Cucina’s long-term strategy regarding food safety and quality projects, including (but not limited to) obtaining/retaining BRC, SALSA and FSA accreditations, and improving operational practices across departments. Provide Technical governance, expertise and support to Operational teams in day-to-day activities, collaborating across departments to drive improved food quality and production standards. Work closely with the NPD team, ensuring legislative compliance, quality, and scalability across Cucina’s critical path and new product/customer menu launches. Skills and Experience: Essential: Degree level education or equivalent in a relevant Food Manufacture or Food science related discipline, or extensive, demonstrable experience working in a management role within the Technical function of Food Manufacture or FMCG. Proven, demonstrable experience in a management level role within the Technical sector, within the food manufacturing industry. Proven experience leading third party audits. Experience working within RTE manufacturing, High Care and/or High-Risk environments. Desirable, but not Essential: Food Safety level 4 – desired, but not essential. HACCP Level 4 desired, but not essential. Experience working within a BRCGS accredited environment desirable, but not essential. Your Key Capabilities will include: Demonstratable management and leadership skills. Ability to demonstrate a scientific and methodical approach to problem solving. In-depth working knowledge of food industry quality and food safety programmes (HACCP, BRC). Ability to work under pressure and quickly make informed decisions. Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and be an advocate/champion of quality. Be a team player with a practical approach Confident in stakeholder management, both internal and external. Strong numerical skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. IT literate.
