The Role
As Workshop Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service depot. You’ll ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while leading and developing a skilled team of technicians and service staff.
Your key responsibilities will include:
 * Managing workshop operations and ensuring compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards.
 * Providing technical support to engineers and customers.
 * Overseeing job scheduling, quality control, and completion of all service documentation.
 * Monitoring parts stock levels, returns, and logistics.
 * Driving continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
 * Controlling costs and ensuring profitability across all jobs.
 * Developing your team through training, mentoring, and regular performance reviews.
About You
You’ll be an effective people manager with a strong technical background in a workshop or service environment. You know how to motivate teams, build customer relationships, and deliver outstanding service.
Essential skills and experience:
 * Proven experience managing a team within a technical or service-based environment.
 * Excellent communication and leadership skills.
 * Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
 * Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
 * IT literacy and familiarity with workshop management systems.
 * Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
 * Experience in municipal, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
 * Formal leadership or management training.
