Moreton has recently had a transformation of its leadership team and is prioritising the education and training of staff while ensuring that high quality patient centered care is at the heart of what we do.
We are a 26 bedded ward that provide respiratory medical care to patients from across the county. This can be direct admissions from ED, transfers from other ward areas, along with caring for step down critical care patients. You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and become competent at caring for patients with chest drains, nasal high flow and NIV (non-invasive ventilation). You will be involved in all aspects of patient care from admission though to discharge and your input and clinical judgement will be valued in the planning of care and treatment for our patients.

* Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients with acute medical and respiratory conditions.
* Communicate confidently with a wide range of health professionals to ensure smooth admissions, care planning, and discharges.
* Work closely with internal and external agencies to support timely, safe patient discharges.
* Collaborate with senior nurses and allied health professionals to maintain high standards of care and patient experience.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse/Paramedic
* Evidence of CPD
* Immediate Life Support training
* Cannulation, Venepuncture
* Intravenous Administration of Medicines
Desirable criteria
* Teaching and Mentoring Competency
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Post registration experience with recent acute Medical/ Surgical/Elderly Care experience in an acute hospital or as a Paramedic
* Understanding of professional nursing/paramedic issues
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Evidence of ability to practice as a proficient practitioner
* Evidence of ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and visitors
* Understanding of confidentiality, information governance and the Caldicott principles
* Evidence of excellent communication skills across a range of personnel
* Evidence of ability to manage time effectively
