Position: CNC Machine Operator
Reports to: Wood Workshop Department Manager
Location: Howarth of London Ltd, 17-19 Buckingham Road, Worthing BN11 1TH
Salary: £27,831.00 pa
Contract: Full Time Fixed Term Contract for 14 months (with possible 6 month extension).
Working Hours Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm (40 hours per week)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Howarth of London is the UK's leading manufacturer of high-quality Oboes and retailer of Woodwind Instruments. We are seeking a full-time CNC Machine Operator to work in our Wood shop at our Manufacturing Division in Worthing. The successful candidate will have an enthusiasm for creating quality products using machine tools. The role demands great precision, an eye for detail and working to fine tolerances. Training will be given.
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Preparing wooden billets for manufacture.
* Preparing instrument bodies for the start of the assembly/build process.
* Using precision workshop machinery.
* Work within fine tolerances.
* Working with other team members to achieve production goals.
* Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
ESSENTIAL
* Knowledge and aptitude for working with wood and CNC machines.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
* Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* Demonstrate a high level of quality control.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Enthusiasm, flexibility and willingness to learn a new craft.
* Diligent and conscientious approach to safety guidelines and good working practices.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with managers and colleagues.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a manufacturing environment.
DESIRABLE
* Previous experience in CNC Machine operation (Fanuc Control) would be an advantage.
