Job Title: Wastewater Network Technician

Hours:37 hours per week
Salary:Up to £46,000 depending on skills and experience
About the role
We’re excited to introduce a brand-new role that sits at the heart of our wastewater network operations. Acting as the vital link between our communities and our infrastructure, you’ll uncover and resolve network issues that may have been hidden until now. This is a rare chance to shape a role from the ground up,influencing how we work with contractors, customers, and key stakeholders.

We’re looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Wastewater Network Technician to take charge of sewer lining and infiltration reduction programmes across multiple catchments. This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll be on the ground making decisions, adapting designs, and ensuring our contractors deliver exceptional work.
You’ll work closely with project managers, internal teams, and the community,keeping everything running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
What you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing daily site operations and contractor activities
2. Making real-time design adjustments based on site conditions
3. Working with customers, Highways Authorities, and internal teams
4. Supporting commercial reporting and programme delivery
5. Assisting with contract documentation and supplier pricing
6. Coordinating with Operations and Asset Management colleagues
7. Attending local community meetings to gain insight and offer support
Additional requirements specific to the role
8. Some out-of-hours work may be required to attend community or stakeholder meetings
9. Travel across multiple sites within your allocated region
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential
10. Experience working with sewer networks
11. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
12. Ability to act as a public-facing representative for the organisation
13. Understanding of contractor management
14. Full UK driving licence
Desirable
15. Experience adapting designs or making technical decisions on-site
16. Knowledge of wastewater investigation or rehabilitation techniques
