Senior Test Centre Associate – Kendal
Responsibilities
* Check candidates’ ID documents and book them in the system.
* Supervise and invigilate driving theory tests.
* Deliver site opening and closing procedures.
* Coaching and supporting Test Centre Associates.
* Review the test centre schedule to identify the number of candidates booked in and organise the delivery of any non‑standard accommodations.
* Notify the DVSA HR team of employee absences to allow alternative cover.
* Provide management support to the Test Centre Manager as required.
* Handle and report incidents that could impact candidate testing in line with incident management procedures.
Work Schedule
Roles offer flexible patterns (part‑time or occasional shifts) with potential for additional hours.
* Mornings – 08:00–13:00 / 14:00
* Afternoons – 12:30 / 13:00–17:30 / 18:30
* Full day – 08:00–17:30 / 18:30
* Evenings – 16:30 / 17:00–20:30 / 21:30
* Afternoon & evenings – 12:00 / 13:00–20:30 / 21:30
The Kendal Test Centre operates 2–3 days a week (typically Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays). Candidates must be fully flexible to pick up shifts across all operating days, evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
* Experience of leading or supervising a team.
* Full UK driving licence (driving may not be required at all locations).
* Significant experience in providing high‑quality customer service.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Flexible in working hours and days, including evenings and Saturdays.
Desirable Skills
* Ability to remain calm and deal with confrontational candidates professionally.
* Excellent judgment and decision‑making skills.
* Experience working with diverse customer groups.
* Ability to work under pressure to short timescales and multitask across competing activities.
