An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cabot in Kings Hill as a Release Engineer. This is a hybrid role with travel to Kings Hill, ME19 4UA, when required.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
1. Assist with the creation and maintenance of software release plans, timelines, and schedules.
2. Work closely with development teams to ensure release preparation and documentation is both timely, accurate and of high-quality.
3. Support the CCM Change Management Process by raising Requests for Change (RFC) and representing them at Technical Review Board (TRB) and Change Approval Board (CAB) where appropriate.
4. Coordinate software releases, ensuring all dependencies are met and that releases are delivered on time.
5. Deploy releases via Azure Pipelines to Production / non-Production platforms and ad-hoc processes where required.
6. Collaborate with developers and QA teams to identify and resolve issues related to software releases and environments.
7. Ensure that all release documentation is complete and current.
8. Assist in the maintenance of release processes and procedures.
9. Continuously evaluate and improve release and environment management practices.
10. Assist in managing development, test, staging, and production environments, ensuring they are stable and secure.
11. Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to release and environment management.
Knowledge & Experience
1. Experience of software release management processes, procedures, and best practices (ITIL Framework).
2. Exposure to Azure DevOps.
3. Experience with ITIL Service Management tools such as ServiceNow.
4. General Windows Server OS experience.
5. Knowledge of SQL (desirable but not essential).
6. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple activities concurrently.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Familiarity with software configuration management.
9. Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Understanding of the software development cycle.
