Transport / Depot Manager
Location: Leigh (near Wigan)

An established and growing transport and logistics business is seeking an experienced Transport / Depot Manager to take full operational responsibility for a busy depot based in Leigh, near Wigan.
This is a senior, hands-on management role with accountability for day-to-day depot operations, compliance, staff leadership, performance management, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, service delivery, and sustainable, profitable growth at site level.
The Role
You will have full responsibility for the management, development, and performance of the depot, ensuring operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, customer service, and cost control.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Overall management and upkeep of a busy transport depot
2. Leading, motivating, and developing a small operational team
3. Driving depot performance against KPIs and service level agreements
4. Implementing operational improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability
5. Ensuring full compliance with all transport legislation and regulatory requirements, including:
6. Drivers' hours
7. Tachograph regulations
8. Vehicle maintenance schedules and records
