Job Description: Fund Taxation Manager

Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS provides global omni-channel investor servicing, contact centres, and digital services.
About the Role
Within GIDS, we serve specific clients exclusively. This role involves working directly with one of our client partners, a leading specialist in integrated investment management and fund solutions based in Bolton.
We are seeking a Fund Taxation Manager to oversee initiatives ensuring all taxation activities related to funds are accurately accounted for in line with the NAVs.
An exciting aspect of this position is collaborating with the wider SS&C network to enhance current processes. Your influence will help shape and define our tax offering as we expand into the UK market.
Your Responsibilities
1. Conduct quarterly tax reviews of the Funds' tax positions calculated for the NAV.
2. Complete relevant overseas tax forms for the Funds to apply treaty tax rates, primarily reviewed and completed annually.
3. Assist with providing custodians, depositaries, and third parties such as brokers with tax or legal documentation required for fund taxation processes.
4. Manage relationships with fund tax agents and liaise with overseas custodial agents.
5. Review and pursue outstanding WHT reclaims across all funds, reconciling positions between fund records and custodial reports.
6. Review acquisitions of offshore fund holdings daily to ensure correct tax setup.
7. Regularly review excess reportable income declarations and ensure proper inclusion in NAVs.
8. Assist internal teams (e.g., Pricing, Projects) with tax queries, including WHT and fund launches.
9. Handle HMRC inquiries, liaising with HMRC and filing appeal letters as needed.
Your Experience
* Qualifications in tax (ATT, CTA, or part/full qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
* Proven experience in all aspects of taxation.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Problem-solving skills to handle complex queries.
* Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
* Proficiency in MS Office and online tools.
