Job Title: ECT Teacher – Early Years
Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025
Fresh from your PGCE and ready to dive in? This one’s got your name on it.
We’re working with a friendly, forward-thinking primary school in Birmingham on the lookout for an Early Career Teacher to join their Early Years team. If you’re someone who’s excited to start your induction, loves the buzz of a well-run classroom, and wants real support—not just hand-me-down lesson plans—this could be the perfect first step.
About the school:
This is one of Birmingham’s most well-regarded primary schools, known for its welcoming staff, happy learners, and strong community links. The leadership team are down-to-earth and deeply committed to staff development. From day one, you’ll feel supported, heard, and encouraged. Planning is shared, the induction is thorough, and there's always someone around for a coffee and a chat when you need it. It’s the kind of place where ECTs can thrive, not just survive.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Taking on a full Early Years class (yes, the little legends)
Building strong routines and joyful learning experiences
Getting support from a great mentor and a welcoming SLT
Working in a school that actually values new teachers
You’ll need to have:
UK QTS or PGCE
Experience in an Early Years setting during training
A positive mindset and a passion for those lightbulb moments
To be based in the Birmingham area
What we’re looking for:
Someone with a spark—an optimistic, reflective teacher who sees the potential in every child
A great communicator who works well in a team
An educator who’s ready to learn and grow (and maybe teach us a thing or two too)
