Teaching Assistant (Band 6) Spinal Column Points 6 – 7 £20,693.15 – £21,022.79 per annum. 35 hours per week, term time only (190 days). Permanent.
Teaching Assistants (Band 5) Spinal Column Point 5, £20,369.88 per annum, 35 hours per week, term time only (190 days). These positions are fixed term until 31st August 2026.
Brougham Primary School wishes to appoint a small number of motivated, enthusiastic and imaginative Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils. These posts will commence as soon as possible.
* The successful candidates will work under guidance, implement work programmes for individuals and groups, and provide feedback to teachers to assist in the whole planning cycle and in the management and preparation of resources.
* In addition, the Band 6 Teaching Assistant, within an agreed system of supervision, will provide emergency short term cover by supervising classes through the use and deployment of pre-planned activities.
Applicants will possess NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (NVQ 3 in respect of the Band 6 post). The school is looking for applicants with excellent communication and ICT skills, who can develop effective relationships with pupils and colleagues and be able to follow teachers’ plans.
Candidates will have experience of working as a classroom or teaching assistant within a primary school environment. Candidates should be suitably qualified and experienced and be able to meet the criteria detailed on the person specification.
Responsibilities
* Work under guidance to implement work programmes for individuals and groups.

* Band 6 role: provide emergency short term class cover using pre-planned activities, under supervision.
