Are you a strategic HR leader ready to shape the future of a growing organisation? MJ Quinn is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of HR to join our People & Culture team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving transformation, supporting business growth, and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
Pay: £63,000.00-£68,000.00 per year
Hours of Work: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
* Strategic HR Leadership
o Collaborate with the HR Director to shape and execute a forward-thinking HR strategy aligned with MJ Quinn’s business goals.
o Lead workforce planning, organisational development, and change management initiatives across all business units.
o Provide expert guidance to senior leaders on complex HR matters including employee relations, performance management, and engagement strategies.
o Lead the development and implementation of HR policies and frameworks that support business objectives.
o Drive continuous improvement across HR processes, systems, and service delivery.
* Operational HR Management
o Oversee the delivery of core HR services such as onboarding, absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and exit processes.
o Ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation and internal HR policies.
o Drive continuous improvement of HR systems, including data analytics and reporting tools to support strategic decision-making.
o Ensure consistency and quality across HR documentation, advice, and case handling.
o Manage escalated HR cases and provide expert guidance to HR Advisors and Managers.
* Learning & Development
o Support the Head of L&D to design and implement a company-wide L&D strategy covering compliance training, leadership development, technical upskilling, and career progression.
o Work with the Head of L&D to identify skills gaps and develop targeted learning interventions.
* Talent Management & Succession Planning
o Work with the Head of L&D and Head of Recruitment, to develop and maintain talent pipelines and succession plans for critical roles across the organisation.
o Work with the L&D team to promote internal mobility and leadership readiness through structured development programmes.
o Embed a performance-driven culture using appraisal frameworks and personalised development plans.
* Culture, Engagement & Inclusion
o Develop and lead initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
o Manage employee engagement programmes including surveys, action planning, and recognition schemes.
o Support the HR Director in delivering Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) strategies and embedding inclusive practices.
o Collaborate with Recruitment, L&D, and Communications to ensure joined-up people strategies.
* Team Leadership & Development
o Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing HR team.
o Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture that supports business needs.
o Ensure continuous professional development and capability building within the HR function.
o Line manage HR Managers and Advisors, providing coaching, development, and performance oversight.
Person Specification
* Essential
o CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience.
o Proven experience in a senior HR role preferably within a multi-site organisation.
o Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
o Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Desirable
o Experience in telecoms, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
o Exposure to acquisition and integration processes.
o Familiarity with digital HR platforms (e.g., Sage People, Thrive).
