Summary

The Category Finance Manager is the gatekeeper of the commercial cluster P&L for the ANZ portfolio.

The role owns the IT&E and New Product Development business case development for its cluster and provides cluster financial reporting and analysis for the Monthly Performance Review & Forecasting processes. It also supports the Annual Operating Plan, and works cross-functionally (with Sales Finance, Revenue Management, Category Development, Sales, Marketing and Operations) to deliver the year and plan the future.

Key responsibilities

Delivering the Year

1. Preparing and analysing actual and forecasted performance using variance analysis to arrive at root causes and action plans

2. Work cross-functionally with Sales & Trade Finance to vet financials of customer-facing opportunities and assess trade spend issues

3. Act as the gatekeeper of the cluster P&L by challenging the sales team to optimize financial results and paybacks, develop and execute plans to control supply chain losses, costing analysis, and oversee portfolio initiatives such as new product development projects

4. Own and support the marketing heads of cluster in NPD business cases and innovation pipeline

5. Add value to the business by ensuring cross-functional team receives timely information and understand its implication to support great business decisions

Corporate Reporting

6. Support the Monthly Performance Reporting, ensuring that business drivers of cluster performance vs plan and prior year are clearly understood and communicated to key stakeholders using Price Volume Mix analysis

7. Support the monthly forecasting process ensuring that forecasts loaded by the ANZ sales team at cluster/category level are sensible vs. plan and prior periods

8. Support the annual budget process and presentation for the portfolio

9. Finance owner of our Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) reporting obligations – a large proportion of our beverages portfolio part of the CDS scheme. This role owns the CDS reporting obligations as there are significant financial costs and cost recovery impacting the Beverages P&L.

Planning the Future

10. Preparing inputs for and analysing financial forecast, Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan including zero based budgeting

11. Own the business cases for new products and renovation/innovation providing a financial view and coordinating inputs across the functions

12. Work cross-functionally with Marketing in development of innovation P&Ls

13. Work cross-functionally with Operations to enable complete business reporting and understanding

Other

14. Perform assigned tasks in accordance with all Kraft Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical and Human Resources policies, programs and goals

15. Uphold the Kraft Heinz values and to work in a way that contributes to the company’s vision

About you

16. Passionate and driven about delivering results

17. Strong analytical skills and financial acumen to assess data and arrive at root cause, with ability to succinctly explain key drivers to senior audience

18. Ability to think strategically about data and translate this thinking into the “so what”

19. Problem-solving mentality with ability to navigate a high pace environment

20. 5+ year’s work experience that compliments financial training, experience in FCMG an asset

21. Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting/Finance or related discipline is desirable

22. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Access is a plus

23. Systems knowledge a plus: Tableau, Demantra, JDA, SAP, IRi tools (i.e. Temple, UNIFY), Quantium
