The Wave, Bristol, are recruiting a Surf Operations Team Leader on a
fixed-term contract until October 2024.

Our 180m
long lake is powered by Wavegarden. This ground-breaking technology can
generate up to 1,000 quality waves per hour, ranging from 50cm (1.7ft) to
almost 2m (6.5ft) in height. We can produce a new wave every 8-10
seconds.
Our Surf
Operations Team Leader you will assist in the day
to day running of the Surf Ops department which includes; lake
experiences, safety and our customer surf journey. Reporting to
the Assistant Surf Operations Manager, you will achieve this by ensuring
the day-to-day operations run smoothly through people management, delegation
and knowing what your departments needs at different times. You will be
confident in upholding standards, expectations and rules of the department.
Our Surf Operations Team Leader:
* Be a qualified lifeguard or show willingness to work towards it
* Plan and lead the shift so that
everyone is performing at their best throughout the day to enhance our visitor
experience.
* Be the first point of contact
for escalated customer feedback and ensure any disputes or adverse comments are
resolved.
* Champion and role model the
highest levels of service to the team.
* Have in-depth knowledge of our sessions,
experiences and wave settings, to be able to assist visitors with their
enquiries.
* Work with the Senior team to
train level 1 & 2 Wavemakers in-line with their training checklist.
* Ensure your team are always
adhering to high levels of lake safety SOPs.
* Comply with legal and company
health and safety standards, and ensure you are following all risk assessments.
* Work with the Surf Ops managers
to adapt the departments resourcing and offerings to stay in-line with targets
and KPI’s.
