Job Description
The OR Facilities Mechanic is responsible for providing comprehensive facilities operations, maintenance, and repair support within Perioperative Services areas. This role ensures the safe, reliability, and continuous operation of building systems, utilities, and equipment supporting critical patient care environments, including the Operating Rooms (OR), Same Day Surgery (SDS), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Sterile Processing Department (SPD), and Obstetrics Operating Rooms (OB ORs). Working under applicable regulatory requirements and infection control standards, the OR Facilities Mechanic performs preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and urgent response activities to maintain optimal environmental conditions and minimize disruptions to surgical and clinical operations. This position collaborates closely with clinical staff, facilities management, infection prevention, and other support teams to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, life safety codes, and organizational policies.
Salary Range:
$28.25-$37.33 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements
* Education: High School Diploma or equivalency and trade school or equivalent military training, certification or license in specialty.
* Experience: One to two years of doing preventative maintenance, inspection and repairs and installation of equipment/facilities and systems. Electrical and Building management systems experience preferred. Prior experience in Hospital Operating Room setting preferred.
* License/Certification Required: Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.
* Skills: Mechanical and electrical experience. Ability to multitask, be highly organized and have good prioritizing and communication skills. Must be able to accurately record work orders in Work Order/Construction Management System.
