Bank Patient Transport Services Care Assistant / Driver
We are seeking to recruit a Patient Transport Services Care Assistant / Driver who shares our passion for providing quality and compassionate care to our patients and staff. Join us in our journey towards creating a "great people, great place" environment.
Main duties of the job
1. Transporting and caring for patients, staff, goods, and equipment.
2. Driving Trust vehicles under normal road traffic conditions.
3. Assisting patients as required, including administering medical gases and providing first aid.
4. Driving Trust vehicles as directed, including minibus and ambulance driving with advanced skills.

Job responsibilities
1. Transporting patients to appointments and treatments at various locations.
2. Transporting staff, goods, and equipment.
3. Moving and lifting patients in wheelchairs and stretchers with aids.
Person Specification
Qualifications
1. Experience driving a range of vehicles, including C1 and D1 categories.
2. 3 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
3. Knowledge of Isle of Wight topography.
4. Ambulance D1 BTEC Level 2 in Ambulance Driving or equivalent qualification.
5. Community work experience (desirable).
Physical
* Good physical health, able to lift equipment and parcels, with moderate effort over periods.
* Calm, caring, and able to handle distressing situations; able to work under pressure.
* Smart appearance.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, to check for any previous criminal convictions.
