Health Care Support Worker – Physiotherapy
Location: St Andrews Community Hospital
Salary/Banding: Band 3
Hours: 18.5 hours (0.5 WTE)
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Support Worker to join our St Andrews inpatient rehabilitation team. The Rehabilitation Service provides therapy to adults within the 2 wards of the community hospital, including some patients followed up at home or in outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the Physiotherapy Service to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes to service users in the ward setting or their own homes, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge.
* Carry out ongoing treatment programmes for a mixed caseload of mainly older people.
* Collaborate with physiotherapists and multidisciplinary team members.
* Attend public holidays as required.
* May be required to work in other community hospital sites.
Qualifications and Experience
* SVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Desirable experience as a Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy support worker.
* Desirable experience working with older people.
* Good organisational and communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
Training and Development
* Regular supervision, PDP and training opportunities available.
* Ability to travel throughout the area is essential.
