Head of Bidding – Power Frameworks

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 basic
Package: Car or Car allowance, Bonus, Private Healthcare, Pension
Location: Birmingham
Working Pattern: 3 days a week on site / Office, 2 days a week from home.
Role Description
As the Head of Bidding for the Power division, working for the Tier 1 contractor, you will be managing the full Bidding process from being the client lead through to managing the internal stakeholders to develop the bid. Including the Estimators, Planning, Commercial, Bid managers and Project Directors etc..
Your responsibilities extend beyond standard tender submissions to focus on long-term strategic alignment with the client. With various areas you will be foucsing on, including:
6. Strategic Alliance Leadership: You must align the tender strategy with the framework goals, focusing on collaborative delivery rather than purely individual profit margins.
7. Pipeline & Resource Management: Oversight of a multi-year project pipeline 5-10 years in advance in some cases and you have to ensure you have the skills and equipment ready for upcoming projects.
8. Bid Lifecycle Management: Leading the full end-to-end bid process for specific work packages, from early-stage identification and development to final contract sign off and post-award mobilisation.
9. Cross-Enterprise Collaboration: You will coordinate with other partners on the framework including design and project management consultants working with the client.
10. Governance and Risk Assurance: Ensuring every bid adheres to strict governance, gating processes, and regulatory compliance standards while managing complex financial and operational risks.
Working on a hybrid basis you will be based in Birmingham 2 days a week, working from home 3 days a week depending on the bid and client requests.
Job Requirement
Required Experience
11. Formal qualification – HNC / HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
12. Proven project experience leading Bids on for Frameworks or major £100m projects as the Tier 1 contractor.
13. Full driving licence
