Are you a finance leader with strategic vision, a strong grasp of financial planning and investment analysis, and the ability to see the bigger picture?
We're looking for a Head of Strategic Initiatives to support the Director of Investment and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) in delivering a high-quality long-term financial plan (LTFP), alongside strategic analysis and reporting across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership by maintaining and developing the long-term financial Business Plan, ensuring effective forward planning tools and reporting for the business and Board to manage risk and long-term capacity.
* Financial analysis and evaluation of strategic investment and business growth opportunities.
* Deliver end-to-end financial support for corporate investments and investment growth opportunities, including asset optimisation, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and major regeneration projects and other growth routes.
* Deliver a range of LTFP, financial modelling, and related activities to support decision making for all aspects of Group Strategy and managing risk.
* Analyse and review the financial impact of new initiatives and strategic decisions on the overall organisational financial capacity.
* Oversee robust financial monitoring and reporting service for all group commercial and corporate investment activities.
* Managing the day to day running of the strategic initiatives function.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable management experience in finance / financial services in a large and complex organisation with substantial capital budgets.
* A CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent) is preferred; significant post-completion experience is essential.
* Thorough understanding of the technical, risk, commercial and strategic issues and implications arising from complex investment decisions.
* Strong experience of financial modelling and producing financial analysis for Strategic Investment decisions.
* Knowledge and understanding of long‑term financial planning and investment appraisal methodologies.
* Well‑developed business management skills and understanding of delivering an excellent customer‑based service in a complex organisation with both social and commercial activities.
* Although home-based, you must be able to travel to our offices in Solihull and Worcester, typically 2–3 times per month.
