Vickerstock areworking in partnership with a growing business who are seeking to appoint a Junior Buyer to join their purchasing department. This is an excellent chance for an ambitious individual looking to kickstart their career in purchasing. The Role: Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Junior Buyer will support day-to-day purchasing activity, ensuring that orders are maximised and accurate for timely delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring suppliers deliver on time, to the required quality and at the most competitive cost. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is proactive, commercially aware, and keen to build strong supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the sourcing and procurement of materials from the GB and EU. Maintain accurate PO data and ensure all purchasing activity is aligned with production requirements. Monitor supplier performance and support corrective actions where required. Build productive working relationships with both existing and new suppliers. Work closely with Production, Planning and Quality to ensure seamless supply flow. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function. Essential Criteria: Previous experience in a purchasing or supply chain support role (2 years is ideal). Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively. Confident working with Excel and MRP/ERP A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and willingness to learn.
