About the Role
Join Superdrug Head Office. Location: East Croydon. Hours: 37.5. Salary: Competitive. This role is focused on driving sales & profitability of Superdrug Own Brand Hair Care and Clear Skin categories through delivering a robust commercial plan across product, price, promotions & merchandising that meets customer needs. The role involves developing and delivering the product plan in collaboration with the Senior Buyer and a team of technical and design experts. Reports to the Senior Buyer and may include line management of a Junior Buyer for the right candidate, with potential extension to Lip Care.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop Own Brand Category plans including range reviews, launch plans, promotions, pricing and stock that deliver against the commercial strategy and financial targets.
* Develop and deliver profitable promotional plans for responsible categories. Forecast promotional sales and monitor performance weekly/monthly/annually; adjust plans as required.
* Act as a category expert: utilise knowledge of category products, competitors and market activity to improve performance.
* Develop new brand concepts and product development plans for existing Own Brand ranges.
* Develop products and packaging appropriate to customers, the brand and commercial requirements.
* Collaborate with Marketing, CRM, Online and digital teams to implement marketing and promotion plans relevant to the category.
* Deliver category reviews using market data, trend data, merchandising and promotional reviews, competitor reviews and buyer input; translate into the annual NPD plan.
* Work with Merchandising to agree merchandising strategy that drives Own Brand advantage while managing availability and slow-moving stock.
* Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure sales forecasts are met and Own Brand availability is maintained.
* Collaborate with International Buying and other European teams to harmonise products and suppliers for efficiency.
* Maintain clear communication across the business and establish appropriate processes.
* Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; strong communication skills required.

* Experience in both Product Development and Buying.
* Commercial acumen with ability to interpret market information.
* Proven track record in brand building and product development.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Customer focused with ability to meet deadlines and manage workload.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Project management experience and analytical mindset.
