About the role
We’re looking for a proactive and customer‑focused individual to help deliver high‑quality financial services to our student community. In this role you’ll play a key part in managing student accounts and supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of our financial operations.
You’ll work closely with student customers, academic departments, other University teams, and external organisations, ensuring accurate accounts, resolving queries efficiently, and delivering services to a consistently high standard. The role also includes day‑to‑day credit control across a portfolio of major accounts and/or a defined section of the student sales ledger.
This is a varied role that combines behind‑the‑scenes financial administration with direct student engagement. You’ll regularly meet with students through scheduled appointments at the Student Services Centre, working on a rota basis to provide clear, supportive guidance on financial matters. If you enjoy balancing detailed administrative work with meaningful customer interaction—and want to contribute to a service that genuinely supports students—this could be an excellent opportunity.
Key responsibilities
* Manage student accounts and credit control for major accounts.
* Support the day‑to‑day financial operations.
* Engage with students through scheduled appointments at the Student Services Centre.
* Liaise with a broad range of internal and external colleagues.
* Work independently, manage workload, and meet firm deadlines.
Qualifications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High standard of numeracy.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
* Experience with a computerised finance or accounting system, ideally Agresso.
* Knowledge of tuition fee processes within the higher education sector.
* Experience in credit control or accounts receivable preferred.
