We’re seeking a proactive and skilled Project Manager to join our Southern-based team, overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects including framework contracts and tendered capital delivery schemes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in a fast-paced, thriving business unit involved in civil engineering works across sectors such as rail, environment, and local authority. You will have the chance to deliver infrastructure that makes a real difference, from bridges and stations to tunnels and flood mitigation.
About Us
Our Southern business unit specialises in multidisciplinary engineering projects throughout the Southern region, working on both one-off tenders and long-term frameworks with key clients. Our portfolio includes rail infrastructure, lineside buildings, upgrades, refurbishments, and more, with a focus on safety, quality, and sustainable delivery. With ambitious growth plans, we are expanding our operational team to meet current commitments and future opportunities.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of rail, civil, and building projects across the Southern region, based from our office in Swanley. Your leadership will ensure that project teams are well-equipped, aligned with contract requirements, and motivated to deliver excellence on every project.
Key responsibilities
* Managing projects from inception to completion, including pre-qualification, tendering, and delivery.
* Ensuring teams understand contract parameters and have the resources needed to succeed.
* Overseeing project execution in compliance with legislation, contract terms, and safety, quality, and environmental plans.
* Delivering projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
* Managing subcontractors to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
* Monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
* Collaborating with the Project Delivery Team to identify and manage change.
* Providing regular progress reports to the Framework Manager.
* Identifying new business opportunities for growth.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within rail and civil engineering sectors.
* A degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent in civil engineering or related technical discipline.
* Extensive experience managing multiple schemes at different stages of delivery.
* Strong leadership skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and stakeholder engagement.
