Project Administrator – Sussex Pathology Network
Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Project Administrator. This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to demonstrate your project support skills and help to deliver key projects within a developing Pathology network.
The role will be hosted by East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust but will be based across the Sussex Pathology Network (SPN), which includes the following Trusts:
* East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT)
* University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex)
* Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (QVH)
Main duties of the job
* Work independently to assist in managing the office and IT systems, providing an efficient administration service to the department and management team and ensuring best use of staff time and resources.
* Support the team with recruitment, audit and projects as required.
* Support the team in the effective administration of the Sussex Pathology Network Transformation Programme and associated groups.

Qualifications
* Good general education (GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths).
* NVQ Level 4 in Administration, or equivalent experience in a professional administrative role.
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) or a project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation).
Experience
* Proven experience in a high‑level administrative role.
* Experience managing diaries, scheduling meetings, taking formal minutes, and organising events.
* Experience working with Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Copilot).
* Previous experience in an NHS or public sector project environment.
* Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to prioritise workload, manage competing deadlines, and work under pressure.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with data entry and report production.
* Ability to use databases, produce complex reports, and use video conferencing tools (MS Teams).
* Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £28,392 to £31,157 a year, pro rata.
