Job summary

NOTE:Please be advised that the start date for the successful candidate will be into the new financial year (May 2026 onwards). The exact timing will be confirmed at offer stage.

The Audiology department deliverhigh levels of diagnostic and rehabilitative care to patients across Lincolnshire.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Senior Audiologist. You should have excellent communication skills, be innovative and flexible. You must be a team player with a broad range of paediatric experience. This role would provide you with an excellent opportunity to consolidate your knowledge and gain new clinical skills within a supportive, friendly environment.

You should already hold a BSc or MSc in Audiology or have equivalent qualifications (e.g., BAAT Parts 1 and 2) and be registered with HPCP or RCCP. You should have experience with hearing assessments and objective testing such as oto-acoustic emissions and tympanometry. You should also have experience with hearing aid provision and review.

You may alsobe required to support the other areas within the Audiology provisions as and when the service requires. Excellent interpersonal skills are a prerequisite, you will be expected to manage your time carefully and able to prioritise conflicting demands, whilst working with a wide range of other professionals to provide a single pan-trust service which meets the needs of our patients.


Main duties of the job

The post holder will;

Work as an independent practitioner providing routine and specialist clinical services to Children and Adults including;

Audiological assessment

Interpretation of results to decide on future management plans

Verifying hearing aid prescriptions using probe tube microphone measurements

Providing detailed advice to service users and colleagues

Supporting other areas which may include audiovestibular testing, tinnitus, adults with learning difficulties, dementia care, hearing therapy, adult rehabilitation

Act as a mentor and/or supervisor for more junior members and trainees within the team

Performing advanced electro-medical and clinical tests.

Advanced auditory assessment; non-organic hearing loss, use of objective measures.

Work with the department to maintain standards and develop the service by;

Assisting the Head of Service/Chief Audiologist to manage changes in practice. Propose changes to working practices or procedures

Ensure departmental guidelines and Trust policies are followed

Assist with and lead audit projects of agreed elements of the service

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the high standards required by the service and will evidence their continued professional development.

This is a Trust wide post base site to be agreed. The successful applicant will be expected to work across all sites within the Trust.

Full time and part time hours considered.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
