Theatre Porter for Operating Theatres. The role includes a good amount of moving and handling. There is also some patient contact and some stores responsibilities. Assisting in the maintenance of a clean and uncluttered environment.
This is a part time role and shifts will be spread across 3 days.
Main duties of the job

We are seeking a theatre porter/general assistant to provide support duties across the HOC theatres and ward area. Flexibility over shift patterns is required.
Your main duties include assisting with patient and non-patient manual handling, patient transfers, cleaning duties, waste management, and ensuring the department is tidy. Stores responsibilities include moving, putting away, and collecting supplies as necessary.
You must have good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and remain calm in a busy environment. This demanding role requires physical resilience.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Position patients and equipment safely within the perioperative environment under theatre staff supervision using manual handling techniques.
* Transport patients safely using beds, trolleys, or wheelchairs.
* Push out, clean, and push back theatre equipment after sessions.
* Collect and return blood and blood products as directed.
* Deliver specimens to the laboratory regularly.
* Maintain cleanliness of mops, buckets, and patient trolleys/beds.
* Manage healthcare and hazardous waste disposal according to policy.
* Send soiled linen and slide sheets for laundering daily.
* Support patient transfers between areas, including to X-ray.

* Good education with numeracy and literacy skills
* Customer care training or similar experience
