Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to support a professional, thoughtful, and academically engaged woman living in the Halton area near Lancaster. This varied role involves providing organisational and practical support in day-to-day life.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with planning and organising daily activities
* Supporting effective social communication
* Meal preparation and light domestic duties
* Encouraging regular eating and supporting medication management
* Occasional personal care, as required
* Diary management and note-taking
* Accompanying the client to academic settings, including university sessions at Sheffield and professional conferences where she delivers training. Some travel may include overnight stays.
Qualifications and requirements
* An understanding or awareness of neurodivergent conditions—particularly autism, ADHD, and Tourette\'s syndrome—would be beneficial
* While prior experience in a similar support role is desirable, it is not essential
* The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* A compassionate, respectful, honest and professional approach
* A well-presented and personable manner
* A willingness to engage in shared interests, such as disability rights, arts and crafts, music, and outdoor activities
* Comfort around household pets, including cats and a friendly dog
* A full, clean UK driving licence
* Access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance
Hours & Pay
* 10-20 hours per week (flexible and reviewed regularly)
* £15.00 per hour
* Annual leave accrued at 12.97% of hours worked
* Additional benefits include a guaranteed day off for your birthday and one mental health day per year (pro rata, post-probation)
